The autumn has officially arrived. The days are a little shorter, but also fresher. That’s why together with my family I chose this time of year for a weekend of sport and relax in Merano, Trentino Alto Adige.
Next week we will leave from Zernez, Engadin by bike and we will arrive after 104 km in Merano. The itinerary is particularly suitable to be ridden by bike as it is composed of a good 90% by a bike path. We will do it by mountain bike, but it can also be done on a road bike.
We will leave our car in Zernez. The first part will be the most challenging. In fact, we will have to take the Forno pass (2149 mt.) and then descend towards Glorenza. We hope the weather will be as good as this week. Arrived at the medieval city of Glorenza, a splendid city that in my opinion is worth visiting, we are about halfway. From here the next few kilometers will be practically only flat or downhill, passing through some villages such as Silandro and Laces. We will arrive in Merano for dinner.
In Merano we will be guests of the Hotel Terme Merano, where we have booked a wellness package that includes dinner, use of the spa and bed and breakfast. “Fresh and healthy ingredients of the day” is the motto of the hotel’s gastronomic offer with chef Karlheinz Falk and his brigade. We can not wait to sit at the table and relax in this hotel in the heart of the city of Merano.
The next day we will be ready to face the new day with energy choosing among the many treatments of the spa or sunbathing in the pool area.
Being Merano connected with a train that will take us directly to Malles we can return on the next day, comfortably by train and then take a bus from Malles to Zernez.
A short weekend that will allow us to fully enjoy fantastic views by bike and to take advantage of all the services that the Hotel Terme Merano has to offer.
Stay tuned for coming pictures.
